




| ACHIEVEMENT WEEK William Mitchell Chairman Edwin Benjamin Ex Officio This committee is to plan and implement an impressive local program in accordance with international guidelines. The local program shall include the annual founder’s banquet, smoker, Sunday worship service, High School achievement activity and District Chapter of the Year competition. The committee is to recommend to the Chapter recipients for the awards for Omega Man of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Founders Award, and Superior Service Award. Adequate publicity in the mass media, Q-View, and the Oracle is expected. AUDIT Walter Tucker Chairman James Gaither Ex Officio The duties of this committee are to audit all financial records of the Chapter, Omegas of Charlotte, Inc., and Queen City Omegas, Inc. following the guidelines of the By-laws and the Operations and Procedures Manual. Recommendations for tax and financial procedures should be presented to the Chapter. BUDGET Kenneth Burton Chairman James Gaither Ex Officio This committee is responsible for constructing the proposed budget and presenting it for information at the October meeting. At the November meeting, the committee is to recommend adoption. Also, the committee shall assist the K.F. and K.R.S. in preparing various other financial and tax reports. CONSTITUTION & BY-LAWS Guardino Miller Chairman Edwin Benjamin Ex Officio This committee is charged to review and update the By-Laws of this Chapter. Secondly, the committee is to publish, maintain, and update the Chapter Operations and Procedures Manual (OPM). EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIP James Lyons Chairman David Sanders Ex Officio This committee is charged to handle all matters pertaining to education and scholarships. It is empowered to prepare detailed regulations, policies, and announcements after prior approval from the chapter. IT shall work with all committees to implement other educational programs. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE Willie Walker Chairman Edwin Benjamin Ex Officio This committee shall develop, maintain, and implement a program to render emergency service or assistance to Brothers. HISTORY AND ARCHIVES Odell Robinson Chairman Al Williams Vice Chairman David Sanders Ex Officio This committee is charged with the task of maintaining the history of Pi Phi Chapter. The records of past and present Brothers should be on file. All Chapter pictures, plaques, and other artifacts for display or storage are the responsibility of the committee. HOSPITALITY Anthony Herring Chairman Gordon Belton Ex Officio This committee shall arrange for hospitality after Chapter meetings. It serves as custodian of the Chapter’s beverages. This committee shall also send gifts, cards, and/or flowers according to the By-laws and the Operations and Procedures Manual. The Cookout at the June meeting is provided by this committee. INTER CHAPTER Ken (Tito) Koonce Chairman Patrick Graham Ex Officio This committee shall oversee undergraduate chapters and all activities in the name of Omega Psi Phi. MEMBERSHIP Ken (Tito) Koonce Chairman Edwin Benjamin Ex Officio This committee is responsible for carrying out Chapter level duties in support of the international and district guidelines of the Membership Selection Program. The committee also assures that follow-on training is provided for new brothers. PAN HELLENIC COUNCIL Greg Austin Chairman Ken (Tito) Koonce Vice Chairman Edwin Benjamin Ex Officio This committee serves as a liaison between Pi Phi Chapter and other Greek letter organizations, represents the views of the Chapter, and makes necessary recommendations. PI PHI ENSEMBLE Cleveland Flowe Chairman Doug Spears Vice Chairman David Sanders Ex Officio The ensemble is to provide entertainment at various fraternity and community affairs. Expenses and gratuities should be handled in accordance with Chapter By-laws and the Operations and Procedures Manual. POLITICAL AND SOCIAL ACTION Terrence Burke Chairman Kevin Wardlaw Vice Chairman Shawn O. Williams Ex Officio This committee educates the chapter and the community on civic, social, and political issues that rate importance to Omega. It insures that the Chapter contributes annually to the UNCF, secures ads for Conclave and District meetings, and supports other local organizations. PROGRAM Myron Williams Chairman Charles Ali Everage Ex Officio The committee shall plan and implement quality activities for the Brothers and Quettes at the fraternity house. It conducts workshops, forums, special entertainment or other functions not provided for by other committees. It is important to coordinate the schedule with the house manager for planned activity. RECLAMATION Andre Kerr Chairman Kevin Wardlaw Ex Officio This committee is mandated by the International Office to present a program for reclaiming unfinancial Brothers. The committee is obliged to maintain a master listing of all identifiable Brothers (active an inactive) in the area, provide a system for registering Brothers, and contact inactive Brothers on a regular basis. RETENTION Juron Howey Chairman Patrick Graham Ex-Officio This committee is mandated by the International Office to present a program for retaining financial Brothers. SOCIAL Willie Ramey Chairman Patrick Leak Vice Chairman James Gaither Ex Officio This committee shall plan all major social activities for the Chapter. These will generally include a spring social, forth of July activity, and the annual Quette Christmas party. TALENT HUNT Bob Graham Chairman David Sanders Ex Officio This committee plans and coordinates the local Talent Hunt Program. The committee recruits contestants in musical and performing arts. The arrangement of judges and the sponsorship of the local winner to the District competition are charged to the committee. TECHNOLOGY Carlton Fairley Chairman David Sanders Ex-Officio The committee study ways the chapter can benefit from using updated computing equipment for the furtherance of our chapter’s purpose. The committee also maintains the chapter’s website. WAYS & MEANS Willie Raimey Chairman Edwin Benjamin Ex Officio This committee is appointed by Pi Phi Chapter and is charged with raising funds for Queen City Omegas, Inc. One major project is the annual Mardi Gras. Recommendations for other projects shall be made to the Chapter. Final written documentation should be provided for all activities. YOUTH ACTIVITIES Joseph Lewis Chairman Kevin Wardlaw Ex Officio This committee should provide constructive and supportive activities for youth. A Halloween party is traditional. Proposals for activities should be Chapter approved. The selection of Chapter sponsored boys for the summer camp should be done by this committee. |
